One-pipe heating system
Example of calculation:
Solution to: pressure loss when using a radiator with valve including Vekolux fitting
Given:
- heat output of the circuit: Q = 4380 W
- cooling of water: t1 - t2 = 20 K (70/50 °C)
- share of radiator: mot
50% - heat capacity of water: c = 1,163 Wh/kg.K
Solution: weight flow in the circuit:
| mR = | Q c . (t1 - t2) | = | 4380 1,163 . 20 | = 188 kg/h |
pressure loss of radiator with valve including Vekolux fitting: Δptotal = 22 mbar
weight flow in radiator: mot = mR . 0,5 = 188 . 0,5 = 94 kg/h

Level 6 presetting

| Radiators Ventil Kompakt with Vekolux fitting in the corner and direct version | share of radiator | KV value | setting of bypass* | Highest allowed oper. temperature | Highest allowed oper. working pressure |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| [%] | [m³/h] | [ot.] | [°C] | [bar] | |
| Valve preset at level six and with thermostatic head | 50 | 1,27 | max | 110 | 10 |
| 35 | 1,60 | 3,5 |
*) For setting at 35% close Vekolux and then open by turning it round 3.5 times. Maximum opening corresponds to 50% share of radiator.
